So you have been in the sun and now you may have a mild tan or you may be burnt, the best care will now help use whichever way you have ended up. There are great many products available for after sun care. Many of these are oil based and do a good job basically but there are also other natural ways that can help skin repair, or even lessen the pain of sunburn.

Sun creams for use after the sun, are mostly moisturizers, but there are some that contain retinol which is proven to assist skin cells to repair much faster. Sun creams after sun care rarely are apply while still in the sun, but there are few that contain SPF factors that will be suitable for this purpose. At home, in a cool bag, or in the refrigerator, there should be a high quality after sun cream or treatments. Having these treatments cooled will greatly increase the soothing nature of these creams. Hopefully, while you were at whatever place you were receiving sun, you will have kept yourself hydrated by drinking water and this will have stopped the skin from dehydrating rapidly, but if you did not then it is a good idea to drink water abundantly when returning from being in the sun. Once indoors, out of the sun you can use calamine lotion, aloe vera, both in the cream or plant form, or bio active yoghurt that will greatly increase and soothe skin damage.

Aloe vera has been used for hundreds of years for skin remedies, and has been proven to help the skin repair off the sun damage, and for this reason is formulated in a great many after sun creams as well as many creams that are for antiaging. Aloe vera can be used direct from the plant. For this purpose simply cut off one leaf and slice it lengthways to expose the flesh, and smear this flesh all over your skin.

Bio yoghurt
Natural live yogurt is a great remedy for badly burnt skin. It is available in practically every supermarket home and abroad, and is easily applied to the skin for people of all ages. Simply smear it everywhere and sit still for 30 minutes to one hour, and not only is this very soothing for very badly burnt skin but also it can help the skin repair the very very quickly. It should be stressed that the your that should be live and not strawberry flavored varieties.

Retinol Sun creams

Certain Sun creams especially those for all the skin contain retinol. Retinol is vitamin A which is used by the skin for collagen and elastin but is also easily absorbed through the skin layers, and this means that vitamin A is directly used topically by the cells for repair or rejuvenation replacement. Collagen based skin creams are next to useless for this purpose as collagen cannot be absorbed through the skin and can never be absorbed through damaged cells or layers.

I hope these 3 tips will be of use to you next time you go on holiday and you can use some of them even at home, you may not be able to find all three of these products where you go, but you should be able to find at least one of them and this will ensure at least you can self treat should the problem arise. Of course the best cure for sunburn is to not allow yourself to become sunburnt. Remember the sun should be used in very small doses at first to allow the skin to produce melanin at a slow rate to acclimatize to the amount of sun you are being bombarded with.
