There are a number of of ingredients that are very important, or at least very popular in the modern products of anti aging creams. We will discuss today retinol, and antioxidants, argireline, a peptide, and matrixyl, similar to the peptide family. These three key ingredients are often found in various doses on competing products.

Retinol, or retinoic acid, is an antioxidant, and is frequently used, to force skin cells to shed, and thus have them replaced with young fresh looking cells. This is the way that this product forces the skin to look young because it is in fact knew skin. Using this principle, this antioxidant, will cause the skin to produce collagen, and this will give the skin a plump affect coupled with the new cells the end product is soft wrinkles free skin.
A lot is spoken, these days about peptides, and their role in it skin care. Peptides are a protein chain belonging to amino acids, and argireline is one of these. This particular product, synthetic in nature, has a numbing affect on facial muscles when applied topically. It is completely safe to use, and is particularly useful around the eyes and forehead. When applied to the face it seals collagen and elastin in the structure of the cells and this stops the cells from emptying all becoming flattened. It is unclear if this amino acid is readily absorbed into the skin, and nourishes the cells topically, it appears as though it might, but research, under controlled conditions, has not been carried out to this affect.

Matrixyl is made from the amino acids, to form a complex protein, which in turn works to produce an affect similar to retinol, the amino complex chain has a fatty acid bond, and this is known to help this product be absorbed into the skin layer quite effectively. It is also known, that it stimulate collagen and elastin production to give a plump wrinkles free affect that appears from within the skin layers.
