There have been many discussions on how to prevent cellulite, there is a belief that it is genetic, and it is true in that respect, that if your mother has bad cellulite, then you would also have bad cellulite. This relies on all things being equal, and although cellulite is more apparent if you are overweight, this does not mean that if your mother had highly visible cellulite and was overweight, that you will have highly visible cellulite at normal weight. There are many reasons why cellulite is very apparent, and many people become confused between the reasons that it shows in different members of the family.
What is cellulite

Fat around the body has many uses, it is a storage vessel for energy, and also for vitamins. Without body fat, we would get a deficiency in fat soluble vitamin supply. Fat soluble vitamins include those that keep you young looking, as well as rejuvenating parts of the body. Fat soluble vitamins, are stored for up to a year in the body, and a lot of these are stored in fat cells ready for use at any time. This is not true of cellulite, these fat cells, do not serve that purpose, and frequently when fat is deposited in these cells, they are never called upon again.

Fat that the stored around the body for use, is often removed and then replenished, and in doing so the fat cells, the containers in which that is stored, are constantly being emptied and filled, and are elastic in properties. This is also not true of cellulite. We store fat in fat cells all over the body, whereas the cellulite cells are predominantly stored in certain areas, most especially the thighs , buttocks, and the back of the arms. They can also be some on the lower back and around the midriff.

Normal fat is found all over the body, and not just under the skin, it is used around the organs, for Insulation, and for protection as well as for holding nutrients, and fat itself is a nutrient.

It would appear that cellulite serves only as a cushion for the body, as it cannot be used for energy, vitamin reserves, or balance or even as a heat insulating layer as it only protects certain areas.

The most common beliefs of the causes of cellulite are genetics, hormonal problems, the lack of a proper diets, the lack of exercise, poor circulation stress, and a generally inactive lifestyle.

Taking these causes into consideration, you should be able to generate a picture of how to avoid getting cellulite, or at least reducing the effects of cellulite on your body, in the years to come.

    Very good general informations about cellulite. Genetic and hormonal problems are maybe a cause of the problem but we must keep in mind that there is a lot we can do to make our skin look better and get (at least partially) rid of cellulite.

    Some prevention methods are really easy to do: drinking enough water is one of them. A healthy diet and sports are also good, not only to prevent cellulite but to cure it as well.
